I have visited numerous Burger & Lobster branches and been thoroughly satisfied each occasion. The other branches have all got an A+ review, but was the Canary Wharf branch any good? Time to find out...

Housed in a converted storage warehouse, the incredibly spacious Burger & Lobster sports a rather shabby chic look inside with faded features, bare brick period walls and cheap furniture. Burger & Lobster is always packed and tonight it was another boisterous evening.
Service
Service was as it has always been at Burger & Lobster chains; efficient, forthcoming and gregarious. Superlative service that should be a benchmark to others.
Food
To start, I ordered the Crab Fritters (left) served with sweet chilli and mayo dip. The fritters were a decent size, and the portion was ample. Light, thin and crispy batter encasing fresh crab meat. The fritters were full of flavour, and for £7 I thought the pricing was spot on. I was sceptical about the dip given the mixture of sickly sweet with savoury. The peculiar pairing was a pleasant surprise, and one I may replicate in the kitchen.
Too many times I had come to Burger & Lobster and not sampled the burger. This time I chose the Lobster Burger with A 6oz. beef patty topped with lobster meat, brie, truffle & tarragon mayo (right).
Presentation-wise, I was salivating upon first sight.
Despite lacking some finesse, the dripping lava of mayo draped over the generous portion of lobster and burger meat was so seductive. I am so glad to report that this was not just a pretty face. The lobster was cooked to perfection, and the mayo was an ineffably perfect pairing. Each element was on point, and combined to a near-perfect dish. However, be prepared to look ungainly when eating it.
My favourite chain has produced another winner. The superlative main plus the service and quirky décor means it is an easy A+ rating.
