Hell’s Kitchen (Part II) (LV)

Updated: Feb 6

Hell’s Kitchen was fantastic the last time I was in Las Vegas. Yes – it was based on a gimmicky show, but the food quality was far from a gimmick. So, when I was back in Las Vegas, it was a must visit. Was it still any good? Time to find out...

Roasted Apple Cheesecake

Ideal for:

  • A dinner or lunch that is set in a gorgeous venue at the heart of The Strip.

  • When you want a good quality hearty meal that will leave you sated.

  • A special meal with a special someone – they will leave impressed.

Ambience & Décor

Hell’s Kitchen was a large, imposing restaurant bathed in natural light from the multiple large windows at the rear that illuminated this beautifully decorated venue. It was the light-dark contrasting décor with respect to the fixtures and fittings that gave Hell’s Kitchen its classy look. The vibe this time was livelier than last, but never felt overbearing.

Service

Service was fantastic and very attentive yet again. We were a bigger group this time, and they nailed the service. This was a theme with Ramsey restaurants.

Food

Pan Seared Scallops

The last time I was here, I ate the Lobster Ristotto, Beef Wellington and the Sticky Toffee Pudding (check out the review here). This time around, I decided to try the Pan Seared Scallops (see left) to start. Firstly, the scallops were basted and cooked to perfection. The accompaniments of celery root, bacon lardons, brussels sprouts, picked apples and truffle jus, all complemented the delicate taste and soft feel of the scallops. An all-encompassing mouthful was a culinary triumph.

Sticking with the fish theme, I had the Crispy skin salmon (see below) which was again cooked perfectly.

Crispy Skin Salmon

Special mention had to go to the truffle caviar beurre blanc, because this was the phenomenal, plentiful, and palate-pleasing accompaniment that elevated this dish. The earthy, crunchy, salty bacon lardons and savoy cabbage paired brilliantly with the smooth, silky, and sumptuous cannellini beans and beurre blanc. One of the best salmon dishes I have ever had.

To finish, I had the Roasted Apple Cheesecake (see top) which came with an apple compote/gel, some candied nuts for crunch, salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. As an ardent lover of apple-based desserts this was incredible, and a brilliant way to finish. Presentation-wise, all three dishes were eye-catching (we expected nothing less from Ramsey). This was my second visit to Hell’s Kitchen, trying completely different items, and it was still a culinary delight from start to finish again, and because of that, this is an A+ rating.

Final grade: A+

Final comment: Hell’s Kitchen was sublime AGAIN! If you are in Las Vegas, go here!
