Decided to visit the newly opened Boxpark in Wembley and tucked away in the corner, was the inconspicuous Nanny Bill’s. Nanny Bill’s opened in 2017 to rave reviews, so was it any good? Time to find out…
Ideal for:
A quick bite before some shopping or a night out
Burger lovers looking for the newest scene
Those on a budget
Ambience & Décor
The stall itself (left) was minimalist, but with the colour scheme and retro neon menu board, it all works and quite in keeping with the vibe of the Boxpark.
Service
The service staff were very friendly and were all part of the charm of the stall.
Food
Decided to go for the lunchtime special of cheeseburger and fries. Whilst the bun, condiments and meat are not revolutionary on their own, they are revolutionary together. The meat was the star of the show. Beautifully cooked, perfectly seasoned and tantalisingly succulent. The burger was easily one of the best I have had in London. The whole package, from the first bite to the last, was sublime. My quips included the fries being over-salted for my taste, but the ample portion will satisfy all hungry diners. The other issue was that, whilst the lunchtime deal is great value for money, the menu was expensive for burgers.
Nanny Bill’s deserved massive plaudits. Classic case of a small package delivering big flavours. The delicious burger and quirky décor will win over fans, but the fries and price was the only sticking point. Solid A rating.
