Wafel & Dinges (NYC)

Updated: Jan 7

Wafel & Dinges mean “Waffles & Toppings” in Flemish, and they serve the famous waffles from the Belgian city of Liège but right in the heart of NYC. Was it any good? Time to find out…

Biscoff Waffle

Ideal for:

  • Those treat days when a Belgian waffle and a coffee hit the spot.

  • When you are craving something sweet but want it on the go.

  • Biscoff lovers – there are many Speculoos spread combos.

Biscoff Waffle

Given this was just a stall in the middle of the city that pre-made the waffles, the ambience, décor, and service were non-existent. I went for a standard Speculoos Liège waffle with whipped cream on top. The waffle was delicious and not too dry, and I loved that burst of sweetness from the caramelised pearl sugar. There was a generous helping of Speculoos cookie butter and whipped cream on top that made this decadent, rich treat quite filling. My only gripe was that at nearly $12, it was pricey for what it was, and hence Wafel & Dinges gets a B rating.

Final grade: B

Final comment: Combining my love for waffles and Speculoos, this was a winner.
